Options should you not be able to participate in the event:
Deferrals: You may defer your entry to the 2027 event. Deferrals must be processed by the registration team and an administration fee of 50% of the 2027 registration fee will be charged. You will pay this fee when you register for the 2027 race. The deferral will expire after the 2027 event, and you will not be able to defer your registration again. Deferrals must be requested by replying to this email to request a deferral or emailing info@rungoldengate.com prior to 10/23/2026.
Transfers: You may not give or sell your number to anyone else. However, bib transfers are allowed for an administration charge and must be processed through your Let's Do This account no later than 10/23/2026.
Transfer your place to a friend or family member.
- Manage your booking here and enter your booking reference
- From your dashboard, click 'Manage' next to your name
- Select the 'Transfer' option, followed by 'Transfer to a friend'
- Input their name and email address
- Click 'Send transfer link'
Upon registration, your friend will be required to pay a transfer fee.
Please note that your entry will only be cancelled once your friend has entered the event and taken your place. There are a limited number of transfer to a friend places for each event. We reserve the right to close this option at any time. We recommend you submit your transfer to a friend invitation at your earliest convenience.
Virtual Run: If you cannot attend the race in person, you may run the half-marathon or 5K “virtually” and still receive the same perks. You can request to be moved to the virtual race by emailing info@rungoldengate.com. The deadline to be registered as a virtual runner is November 1, 2026.
Race Insurance: When registering, you had the opportunity to purchase race insurance. Refunds are only available for Refundable Registrations and are handled by Protect Group.
If you purchased a Refundable Registration:
- Manage your booking here and enter your booking reference
- From your dashboard, click 'Manage' next to your name
Select Refundable Registration (shown at the bottom if protection was purchased)
Apply for a refund, or visit Protect Group’s Refundable Registration portal directly
Review eligibility (refunds are granted only for specific reasons such as illness, injury, or travel disruption)
Submit your claim and wait for Protect Group to process it
Important: All refunds are managed by Protect Group. Motiv Sports and Let’s Do This do not process or intervene in refunds.
Refund Policy: All registration fees are non-refundable. This race, in accordance with management executives, city officials and local law enforcement has the authority to cancel any of the events for emergency purposes such as, but not limited to, inclement weather, a pandemic, or threat of terrorism. If such emergency conditions force cancellation, refunds cannot be provided.
